Don’t Ghost Your Readers
Before I say anything else, I just want to say…

Look, I know all this can be daunting. But take a moment to breathe.
After that, understand that the work will continue. I’ve been there. No way did I adequately promote my historical novels when they came out and after they came out. Being active and seen is important if you want to have any hope of being a successful self-published author.
The strategies and tactics I’ve introduced you to here are by no means “one and done.” And although your book’s launch period is important, when you self-publish, you have control of promotions throughout the life of your book. There will always be readers out there who haven’t yet discovered you.
But if you don’t persist, make efforts, and constantly work and refine—and keep writing!—it will be very difficult for you to carve out a career as a romance author.
For instance:
Don’t get discouraged if your email list is small! It will grow if you are consistent and provide valuable content to your subscribers.
Keep your website updated with reviews, promotions, new books, blog posts.
Stay active in the communities you join—post, comment, like, and support one another.
Talk about your book! Don’t be shy and retiring. All your hard work deserves to be celebrated.
Keep working on your writing—make the next book you write even better than the first one!
Want some ongoing support as you write your next book and continue to promote?
